WHAT IS A HOLISTIC NUTRITIONIST?
Holistic nutrition approaches health and healing from a whole-person perspective and seeks to remedy the mind, body, and soul. Focus is on preventive health using natural foods and products as well as looking "up stream" to determine the root cause of an individuals symptoms. The physical and chemical, mental and emotional, as well as the spiritual and environmental aspects of your life are all closely connected and determine your wellness on a daily basis.
WHAT TRAINING DO YOU BRING TO YOUR PRACTICE?
I am a Natural Nutrition Clinical Practitioner (NNCP) and a member of the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners (CANNP) www.cannp.ca.
I am a graduate of Alive Academy of Natural Health in British Columbia where I achieved certification as a Holistic Nutritionist.
I studied with Josh Gitalis, and earned certification as a Functional Nutrition Coach.
I am also a certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor and Healthy Weight-loss Coach. www.canfitpro.com
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR KEY AREA OF EXPERTISE?
I am the Founder of the Nourish & Thrive Formula. My specialty is working with women who suffer from anxiety and burn out who want to feel better and like themselves again without having to go on antidepressants or other medications. This is done through naturally with sustainable changes to diet and lifestyle.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PART OF THE WORK YOU DO?
In helping women find balance in their life through: nutrition, stress relief, sleep hygiene along with other daily diet and lifestyle factors, so they have more energy and feel like their amazing self again is why I do this.
Successes of my clients are the greatest rewards in the work that I do and I am truly honoured.
I love that I can be a part of someone's healing process, and it's remarkable to see the transformation in my clients- not just in their health but in the positive effect their improved health has on every aspect of their lives.
WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING, WHERE CAN YOU BE FOUND?
I enjoy being outdoors all year long- in my garden, in the woods hiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing. I spend quite a lot of time in my home kitchen cooking and playing with recipes (a baker I am not). Reading for both education and fun is something I love and enjoy.
But mostly, I cherish the time I get to spend with friends, family and those who add joy to my life.
